I attended the North/South All Star Game to watch Jed Raymond, Dave Campbell and
Curt Goldman represent Middlebury. All did so in stellar fashion.
Jed and Chris Turner from Salisbury State stood out as the top two field players.
Jed was outstanding on ball as usual, taking the ball away. He also had a
great day clearing and even had an assist as an offensive middie when he ran as
a middie late in the game (yes, with his long stick). He dodged, drew a
slide from a long stick, circled out to avoid the slide and hit a cutting
player on the crease for the goal. Curt had a goal and an assist in the
midfield and played a great game, moving the ball, playing D, GB's, great all
around effort. Campbell saw a couple tough shots early, but rebounded to
make some great saves and looked impressive in the goal. The NESCAC
players in general stood out, as 3 Williams players all played well. The North
dominated the game and won 18-13 (or something close to that!) The game was
played on Astroturf in Delaware in 95 degree temperatures. It had to be
well over 100 on the field. The temperature felt nice to this Vermonter
who is still living in 50 and 60 degree temperatures up here in the North
Country!
