Middlebury
defeated Union 17-4 on a dreary day at Peter Kohn Field, or "The Myron",
as Jeff Thomsen has dubbed it!
Union
gave us fits last year in a 9-7 slow game, so there was some satisfaction in
keeping the game up-tempo and playing at our level. They were not much of a match for us, but there goalie made some
nice saves and kept the game somewhat respectable.
Lots
of players contributed, as you might imagine.
Jed Raymond was dominant as we shut off every time his man touched the
ball and he was probably around 95% taking the ball away. Peter Albro, a sophomore attackman from
Loomis Chaffee won the game ball by contributing 3 goals when he made his appearance
in the second half.
We
play Amherst this Saturday at home at 2:00.
I am not yet sure if we will play in the stadium or on the turf. The ground is in terrible shape up here still
and the weather does not look as if it will cooperate for the next couple of
days. The Astroturf field has certainly
been a blessing!
Best
Wishes,
Erin
