We
defeated Union today 21-2. After a sloppy day on Saturday we were sharp
today, moved the ball much better and generated some nice goals. The scoring was balanced and was led by Mike Saraceni with 2 goals/4assists and then some back ups, Jon Sisto and Nick Bastis with 3
goals apiece. Saraceni
has been doing a great job feeding all year, while still scoring a couple goals
per game. It was not until around this
time last year that I recognized his ability to feed. He had played mostly on the crease his first
couple of years while he played with Seeley, Herbert, Hopkins and Carroll. He has great vision and is an accurate
feeder. Aaron Herter and Andrew Giordano played well
in the midfield, it was nice to see them get untracked
a little.
The
defense was largely untested, but played well.
Riding again played a huge role in setting the tempo.
We have a tough week coming up beginning Saturday against Amherst,
then next Wednesday vs. Tufts and next Saturday vs. Bowdoin. Those 3 teams look like the top 3 teams in
the league other than us.
