Trinity had
clinched a #3 seed going into the weekend and regardless of what they did
against
We came out
on Sunday with a fire that I haven't seen all season
long. Even though we went down 0-1 early and they had a few great
opportunities during the 1st quarter, you could tell we were going to keep
pressure on them for the entire game. We created fast breaks off of face
offs, rides, saves, ground balls and only played harder as the game moved
along. Skyler Hopkins (
Alex Palmisano was also stellar in goal for us and allowed us to
run away with the game. It was also a good to get Nick Bastis going again, he finished
the day with 2 goals and 2 assists and was the force in the midfield that he's
capable of being. In the 4th quarter he
scored what could possibly be described as the second most spectacular goal
I've seen in my time at Middlebury. (The first being Holt Hopkins' pump high,
around the world/back breaker against
Overall it
was a great team effort on Sunday, hopefully one that can carry us through this
week and against Tufts on Saturday. 2 of the 3
teams left have beaten us in overtime and the 3rd beat us convicingly
at their place. We are in unfamiliar territory being the underdogs going
into this weekend but I think it's placed a nice chip
on our shoulder going forward. I'm excited to
see what these guys are capable of.
