Tough one for the Panthers the other day down in Medford.
Credit the Jumbos for taking advantage of their opportunities in
transition and for pouncing on a team that didn't look like it got off the
bus. Before we knew it we were down 5-0.
At
that point we regrouped and got back into the game, we cut it 6-4 in the 3rd
quarter. That's as close as we would
get the rest of the way, we had a few possessions to
cut it to a one goal game but didn't make it happen.
Tufts
is a high risk, high reward offense that jams the crease and have some athletic
d-mids and long stick middies who are very aggressive
in transition. 7 of their 10 goals came
in some form of unsettled situation.
On the
flip side we only had one good look in transition on the day where Alex Englert hit the cross bar and we didn't capitalize on
enough of the looks we created in our 6v6 offense.
Moving
forward we have Williams this Friday night at 6pm down in Williamstown. They've been up and down this year but I'm
sure they'll be fired up for the Panthers.
We're going to have a good week of practice and do everything we can to
keep the Thomsen Trophy up here in VT!
