Sorry
for getting this update out so late, slipped my mind today as I've been getting
ready for our Rensselaer (RPI) game tomorrow.
Interesting
game on Saturday with the Bantams as the game was scoreless until late in the
2nd quarter. Both teams had gotten some
decent looks up until that point but both goalies were playing well and there
was a lot of sloppy play going on. We
finally got on the board with a few minutes to go in the half when Tim Cahill
batted down an outlet pass from their goalie that Pete Smith scooped up and put
away.
We
picked things up on offense and handled the ball better in the 2nd half. Trinity had decided they were going to bump a
close defenseman up into the midfield and put a short stick on one of our
attackmen for most of the game which made it more difficult to initiate offense
in the midfield but opened up some other things for us. It was good to see Jack Masur stick three
shots in the 2nd half against the favorable match up.
Beyond
that, Ryan Deane was great in the cage with 10 saves and only allowing 2
goals. Our close defense of Matt
Rayner, Henry Clark, Charlie Schopp, and Brad Forkner had a good day and played
a physical brand of lacrosse that we've been waiting to see out of them.
We
have a few huge games this week with #14 RPI (10-1), and #8 Tufts (10-1) both
on the road. We have our work cut out
for us but what a great opportunity for this team to step up!
