It was a
tough day for the Panthers down in
The story
of the game was a hot goalie for Trinity/poor shooting by us
and our inability to clear the ball with poise. Offensively we
were getting looks all day long but for the second game in a row had a hard
time finishing, hence only 10 goals. A bright spot worth noting was the
play of Senior Nick Bastis (2g,1a)
who has been running in the midfield for us the last few games. Nick is
getting more touches since running in the midfield and is occasionally matched
up with a short stick which is an excellent
opportunity for us.
Once again we rode hard and were able to come up with some extra
possessions that way over the course of the game. Unfortunately
we were having a difficult time clearing the ball which cost us a number of
possessions and ultimately led to a few of their goals.
Trinity has
an excellent face off specialist who is one of the top players in the country
in terms of his percentage. He gave Pete Mellen
all he could handle and we ended up going 50% for the day.
We're
coming up on our last 2 weeks of the regular season with 2 big home games this
week against Bates on Tuesday and with Wesleyan on Saturday at 1pm. We're expecting over 250 people for
