Tough
to follow on the heels of EQ's wrap up of our alumni game against Bowdoin, not
sure if I can put as much of a positive spin on our effort in the afternoon.
It's
always a great opportunity to match up against Bowdoin, a team that plays the
game just like we do. They will come
after you on defense and are very aggressive in transition. It's not so fun when they beat you at your
own game and that's what happened yesterday.
Early
on we created some great looks in transition and just couldn't capitalize on
them, as things played out the rest of the first quarter, Bowdoin stuck some
shots and our 2-1 lead quickly turned into a 8-3
Bowdoin halftime lead.
The
good news for our team is that we're capable of creating great opportunities in
the middle of the field and in our 6v6 offense but we need to be mentally
tougher. We must learn to play through
our own mistakes and the other team making some plays and not let it effect how we approach the game.
Defensively
we played hard but it was our offense that continued to cough up the ball which
allowed Bowdoin to get their transition game going.
Not
much time to get ready for the next one, we have
Skidmore at home on Tuesday. Skidmore
will be a tough test as they're coming off a good win against St. Lawrence last
week and have had some time to prepare for us.
Should be fun!
