We came away with another big midweek home win
the other day on Youngman field against Springfield to move us to 10-2 on the
season. I won't get into too much detail here but our guys came out and
played fast at both ends of the field against the Pride. It allowed us
to take a 7-0 halftime lead and then a 16-4 lead late in the 4th before
Springfield scored 4 unanswered goals in the last 6 minutes of the game.
Will Ernst was sharp in the cage from the start
and Jon Broome had a hand in our first four goals of the game, finishing with 2
goals and four assists. Once again Cedric Rhodes had a big game as he
contributed four goals coming off the bench.
The game ball went to first-year Nick Peterson
who had two goals in transition and continued to play lock down defense for us
in the midfield. Nick has been playing like an upperclassman from the
start of the year and it was great to see him look for some opportunities in
transition against Springfield. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.
