We picked up another solid win
yesterday over the Red Hawks of RPI. They were a tough, well coached team
and did a good job of slowing down the game against us and canning what
opportunities they had. We didn't have a complete team effort but did
have some good performances from Mike Stone, Pete Britt, Dave Campbell and our
freshman LSM, Henry Clark. It's nice to see our captains leading by
example and making plays all over the field. The three captains and Henry
combined for 31 of our team's 54 ground balls. Mike Stone not only scored
6 goals on the day but finished with 10 ground balls. Dave won 12 of 18
face offs and finished with 9 gb's, Pete made 13
saves in the cage and picked up 6, while Henry also picked up 6.
Noticably absent from the box score is Pete Smith, it wasn't his
best day for whatever reason and our offense didn't end up clicking like
it usually does. I would expect Pete to bounce back and play very well
against Tufts this weekend.
Tufts is currently ranked 10th
in the latest USILA poll and just knocked off #9 WNEC last night
15-4. They've been putting up goals in bunches this year, hopefully we'll be able to slow them down this
weekend.
