The
Vail tournament organizers finally released the brackets.
Supermasters - There are 13 teams in our division this year. Our first
game we will be against Air Force, Friday morning at 9AM. The winner of
our game then plays Rockies (first round bye), the same day at 12 noon. I
think Air Force placed 6th of 10 last year having lost to Behind the Back in
the Consolation final. This is their 4th year at the Vail.
Their second year, they came in second place. The Rockies
placed 3rd last year. Since there are so many teams, the losers of the
first round will enter a round robin on Sat and Sun. The great news for
the Supermasters team is that we will have a coach for our first game.
Jim Grube will be arriving mid afternoon on Friday so we were going to be
""coachless" for game 1, but since the Masters team doesn't play
until the afternoon, Erin will be able to lead us to victory!
Masters - There are 10 teams this year. The last 2 years there have only
been 8 teams, so this is a good sign. Our first game will be on Friday at
2PM against the winner of the STX/Lax Unlimited (Long Island) vs. Prudential
Financial game (at 9:30AM). Therefore we will probably be playing the
Long Island. Long Island fielded a Vail team for many years, but
has not been at the tournament for the last 2 years. Good news for
us is that Long Island will have just played a game so this is a chance to
surprise them.
